Walk on the wild side
With its vibrant red glass walls, quirky artwork and minimalist fixtures, this apartment bathroom reflects an adventurous design approach
When in comes to bathroom design, the predictable approach may be the safe option, but it's never going to provide the wow factor unlike this bathroom. Designed by owner and interior designer Lynn Malone, the small space is a testament to her love of vibrant colour and furnishings.
Although the rest of Malone's refurbished apartment features neutral walls to better display her and her partner's extensive artwork collection the designer opted for bright red and white colour-backed glass walls in the bathrooms.

"The secret to taking a more adventurous approach is not to get carried away with too many colours, finishes and materials," Malone says. "Red is almost the new neutral for modern interiors."
A contemporary, cantilevered Italian waterfall vanity, and a sleek, wall-hung toilet provide sharp white contrasts to the red. Similarly, stainless steel fixtures complement the sheen of the walls.
A black display cabinet, which features mirror-backed light boxes, is another strong, graphic element that adds a further punch of colour to the room.
To the left of the basin is a laundry recess also in black. High-gloss doors conceal the appliances, sink and cupboard from the bathroom.
