Owners' requests
- A bathroom to complement their townhouse built in the 2000s.
- Low maintenance

What we achieved
- A shower partition wall was added to avoid having to use glass in the bathroom, keeping to the low maintenance brief – this was built at 1.8m high to align with a tile module, ensuring that it didn’t make the space feel enclosed.
- A full width shelf was added behind the bath and also the shower – these were set a different height and were both set to a line with tile modules.
- 50mm directional downlights were added to the ceiling to cast light down the wall of the bath / shower as a feature – these were set up with a sensor and dimmer so there is a soft light for the toilet to be used in the night without having to turn the main lights on.
Issues encountered
- Being a townhouse with a concrete mid-floor, we didn’t have the option of relocating fixtures without the project becoming a major undertaking.
