Pairing rich timber joinery with soft natural stone, this clean, crisp kitchen responds to the architecture of the wider home in visual terms as well as its immediate environment – the generous island provides for gatherings, dining, and food preparation

Designed by Samantha Tatulli, Urbane Projects

From the designer:

Designed to reflect the wider home’s linear architecture and refined material palette, this kitchen embodies a balance of contemporary sophistication and natural warmth.

Echoing the exterior combination of timber and stone, the space features rich timber joinery paired with soft natural stone, creating a layered composition of texture and tone.

At its centre, a sculptural stone island anchors the room, offering a generous gathering point for both everyday living and entertaining.

Bronze rangehood a feature

The striking bronze rangehood forms the kitchen’s focal point, its warm patina complementing the refined bronze fixtures used throughout the home.

A softly glazed tiled splashback introduces subtle texture and light, contrasting with the darker cabinetry while maintaining the home’s cohesive palette of organic finishes and rich accents.

The kitchen’s strong horizontal lines reflect the home’s architectural language, while its open connection to the living and alfresco spaces reinforces the residence's seamless indoor-outdoor lifestyle.

Outdoor culinary connection

Extending this design language outdoors, the alfresco kitchen (not pictured) continues the same material story, ensuring a cohesive transition between interior and exterior entertaining spaces.

A generously proportioned island finished with textured tiles and a refined porcelain benchtop provides a welcoming hub for gatherings, dining, and food preparation.

Above, the sculptural bronze rangehood mirrors the feature within the main kitchen, creating visual continuity while introducing warmth and character.

Integrated appliances, including a pizza oven and barbecue, allow the space to function as a fully equipped outdoor kitchen, ideal for relaxed entertaining.

Together, the kitchen and outdoor kitchen reflect Meribrook’s defining principles – linear, bold, and refined – creating spaces designed for connection, celebration, and effortless modern living.
