Continuity
Clean lines, uncluttered space, and a limited material palette promote a feeling of serenity in this bathroom
Simple, clean designs are a hallmark of many modern bathrooms. But minimalist need not mean uninviting.
Designer Shelly Handman used mellowing tones and softening agents in this master suite to create a space in which to linger.

"The geometry of the room gives the design its strength. Its symmetry gives ease to the eye, and the repetitive use of natural limestone flooring and wall tiles with a creamy coloration immediately gives a warm connotation," he says.
As Handman wanted the pared-back design to elicit a relaxing feel, he incorporated individual pieces that do not physically and visually overwhelm the room.
"The square-edged tub, shower stall and vanities at each end of the room maintain clean lines and a contemporary feel. Dornbracht faucets were selected for their simplicity and architectural design," Handman says.
The skylight provides natural illumination during the day, with recess and pendant lighting creating ambiance at night. Wispy wiring was draped around the pendants to soften the sandblasted shades.
