Bathing pleasure unlocked
A bedroom-to-bathroom conversion unlocks optimum bathing space – half-height tiled privacy walls, custom ledges, and feature lighting bring the contemporary new retreat alive

The brief
Our homeowners wanted to transform an existing bedroom into a spacious, modern bathroom and convert their original bathroom into a laundry.
They were excited about the opportunity to design with fewer constraints, giving them flexibility in fixture placement and layout.
Our response
With the larger space, we crafted an open and inviting bathroom that balances privacy with flow.
A half-height tiled wall with glass above was installed for the shower – this created privacy while keeping the space feeling open and light.
The half wall includes a built-in ledge for shampoo bottles and shaving essentials.
We also extended a half-height ledge along an outside wall, ideal for displaying ornaments, plants, or bathroom accessories.
Small directional downlights were added to highlight feature tiles, adding subtle drama and warmth to the space.
Challenge becomes a positive
One challenge was that, unlike in traditional renovations, we couldn’t conceal the toilet plumbing under the floor.
To work around this, we designed and built the half-height wall, which not only resolved the plumbing issue but also enhanced the bathroom’s layout and functionality.
