From the architect:

This Airbnb apartment project enhances the guests’ experience while they enjoy the luxury of staying by the sea.

The building, constructed during the Art Deco period, provided a rich historical backdrop that influenced our design choices.

This aesthetic was the foundation for our interior colour palette, prominently featured in the apartment kitchen, bathroom, and bedrooms.

In isolation, this bathroom layout maximises space usage while maintaining an open, airy feel.

Detailing and materials were of utmost importance aesthetically.

We selected period-appropriate finishes and lighting pieces to seamlessly integrate into the overall design narrative.

Using Emerald Haze Quartzite, tonal wall and floor tiles and beautiful sanitary fixtures from Novas, we ensured each detail contributed to a cohesive and sophisticated look.

Notably, we successfully navigated the challenge of working within the constraints of a small bathroom footprint.

Despite the limited space, we were committed to maintaining a high level of finish and execution – reflective of a hotel suite.

The custom vanity served as a visual focal point for the bathroom and provided enhanced functional storage within the confined footprint.

The custom shower rail echoes the soft curve of the bath hob, making the circulation space easier to navigate, and provide a nod to the Art Deco style.

This bathroom celebrates the timeless beauty of Art Deco design along with the serene luxury of coastal living.

The project successfully blends functionality and aesthetics and sits perfectly in isolation or within the wider apartment’s design story.
