It was important to include a large walk-in tiled shower and also have space for a good sized bath – with the angled ceiling upstairs, the shower in the downstairs main bathroom needed to be a large practical space which was in proportion to the size of the bathroom. The large format 800mm x 800mmm terrazzo-style tiles were selected to provide impact, texture and colour to tie the warmer tones together, and also the touches of soft blues and greys. The lined textured wall tiles are in a soft colour tone which provides a restful feel around the bath area while the warmer grey toned floor anchors the palette, creating a harmonious feel. The generous soap niches are accentuated with LED strip lighting, bringing a warm glow to the feature tiles. A custom designed and made wall hung vanity has a Super White marble benchtop and sitting on this is a French grey concrete halo basin. The side lights are a real feature in the bathroom with the soft blue tones accentuated by the tiles. The marble handles on the vanity mimic the marble of the benchtop. The timber on the vanity adds a warmth and texture that ties in with the wider interior design throughout the home while the brass tapware, heated towel rails and custom designed cathedral style mirror adds a modern elegance. The design of this space is striking and bold with a tonal colour palette with touches of metallic finishes – creating an elegant and sophisticated bathroom for this renovated family home Credit list Bathroom designer Kirsty Davis Kitchen Design Vanity handles Lo and Co Arc Marble Handle Carrara, by Lo & Co Table top basin Concrete Nation, Halo, in French Grey Bath Caroma Contura, freestanding Shower fittings Meir 2 in 1 round showerhead in Tiger Bronze Accessories Towel rails – Astra Walker, in Urban Brass; hand towel rail – Meir, in Tiger Bronze; mirrors – Joska & Sons custom, bronze, cathedral style Wall tiles NextDore Porcelanosa Park Lineal Acero, 361 x 900; NextDore Porcelanosa Ceppo Stone, 800 x 800 Ventilation, hot water systems, underfloor heating Powershack Electrical Awards Trends International Design Awards (TIDA) Bathrooms – Highly Commended Vanity Bestwood Simply Eucalyptus Timberland finish Benchtop Super White marble, from The Granite Benchtop Company Taps Meir combination – curved spout with cross handle, in Tiger Bronze Shower stall Custom with Gun Metal extrusion and custom cut out, by Canterbury Glass Toilet Caroma Liano Invisi series 2, wall hung Floor tilews NextDore Porcelanosa Bottega Acero 596 x 596 tiles Lighting Douglas and Bec Snelling Studio Compact 2 wall light Shutters Frobisher's Helpful links Windows and Doors Altus Windows and Doors Cabinetry Hardware Blum Spas Hot Spring Spas Home Builder G.J.
