Moody rooms
Slatted rimu ceilings, wall and shower base add warmth to a backdrop of concrete-look wall tiles in this main bathroom and adjoining powder room combination
Designed by Kirsty Davis Kitchen Design
From the designer:
The owner wanted a luxurious main bathroom with wow factor and a dramatic and moody powder room adjacent to it. This means the toilet is in a separate room next to the bathroom, giving privacy to both areas.
However, the design and finishes are consistent in both.

The rimu clad ceiling, which flows through the entire home, was a design consideration, and was used down the back wall behind the freestanding bath. Rimu was also used for the custom-made slatted shower base.
Charcoal tile on the other bathroom wall and to all of the powder room walls are the same tile used in the shower wall of the home's ensuite bathroom.
In the bathroom, the tiled areas incorporate custom designed shower and bath wall recess areas.
Custom made wall hung vanity units in the bathroom and powder room feature Dezignatek gloss white fronts, Caesarstone Raven tops and Blum LegraBox white drawers.
Full height mirrors above the vanities are not only functional – they also increase the sense of space in the two rooms
LED strip lighting below the vanities provides subtle ambient lighting, while there are also feature pendants over the bath and in the powder room
A concealed extraction system in the shower ceiling as well as in the powder room retains the clean lines of the design concept.
