Marble feature wall makes a splash in this powder room
Rich veined marble meets marble tile in this luxurious bathroom
Given the often limited space available for a powder room, an efficient layout is always crucial – and this project proved no exception.
The brief to designer Jennie Dunlop was to create a guest bathroom that would be glamorous enough to also be used as a powder room.
“To add the powder room feel, we used a rich marble for the vanity top and continued the stone up onto the wall behind,” says Dunlop.
“Allowing for the presence of the long offset shuttered window, the vanity was designed to step down to accommodate it. The lowered countertop forms a handy ledge with open towel storage introduced underneath.”

The balance of the walls in the room, as well as the floors, are finished in white marble tile. This luxurious surface also creates an ideal backdrop to the glazed shower enclosure.
The large circular vanity mirror’s LED back lighting forms an interesting pattern against the beautiful marble, further accentuating the latter.
In another glamorous touch, three hanging silver pendants tone in with the upmarket silver and white vessel basin. The latter is served by a nickel pillar tap, further adding to the luxe feel of this powder room meets guest bathroom.
