Heavy and light - this staircase combines both

Greeting you just inside the entrance to the home, these stairs have a dramatic, sculptural quality. Designer FuTung Cheng cast each of the 160kg concrete treads, which were then post-tensioned into the concrete wall and cantilevered out to give a floating effect. The wire balustrading plays no structural role in the design.
