Concrete is so much more than just a construction material in this new home
Just inside the entrance to this home, the stairs have a dramatic sculptural quality. Designer FuTung Cheng cast each of the 160kg concrete treads, which were then post-tensioned into the concrete wall and cantilevered out to give a floating effect – the wire balustrading plays no structural part in the design
