Emerald and brass
This modern bathroom offers a light industrial vibe, with gleaming emerald tiles in a textural herringbone layout, brass accents and a concrete look tile

From the designer:
The owners of this 1930’s bungalow style home had plans drawn up to add on a large open plan kitchen and living space to their existing house and to completely renovate the rest of their existing house, including the ensuite bathroom and the family bathroom.
The brief
The brief for the ensuite was to create a functional bathroom with a large walk in shower, a vanity with a good amount of bench space and good storage.
Plus, our homeowners wanted a strong colour accent in here and a good use of texture.
Another aspect of our brief was to combine the new and old – to provide a contemporary space that blended with the older style and character of the original home.
The response
We have used a slightly industrial style with the concrete look tiles.
The pops of warmth through the brass fittings add warm and a touch of luxury.
We specified a strong emerald green tile in the walk in shower, below a large skylight.
We used a herringbone layout to add a layer of texture and pattern.
The warm timber tones accent the concrete style grey tiles on the floor and remaining walls.
A tiled niche adds storage in the shower and the drawers in the vanity combined with the recessed mirror cabinet provide great storage.
