Depth, personality and detail
Powder rooms often offer a point of departure from a home's wider interior themes and this intimate, characterful and highly functional space is a welcoming case in point

From the designer:
In a home shaped by light, openness and coastal ease, this powder room offers something more unexpected – a moment of contrast: intimate, moody and highly textural.
The design brief from the owner included the need for versatility and functionality, as this powder room needed to service both as a guest powder room for the ground floor, but also as a bathroom room for the guest bedroom and the outdoor / pool area.
Initially designed as a stand alone powder room only, we borrowed space from an un-utilised area under the stairs to increase the envelope and provide functionality to allow for a shower to be included.
Creating a space with difference
The room is defined by its colour and texture leaning into its moody vibe.
Japanese glazed tiles wrap the walls with texture and movement, while the slim vertical format draws the eye upward and gives the room a strong architectural rhythm intersecting the ceiling angles.
Bronze tapware meets sculptural basin
Bronze tapware, integrated lighting and a sculptural basin bring warmth and refinement, balancing the depth of the tile with moments of softness and glow.
The limited floorplan is organised with genuine functionality providing a shower alcove, full length wall niche and face height storage in the recessed shaving cabinet.
The result is a space with atmosphere, confidence and a reminder that even the smallest rooms deserve depth, personality and detail.
