Not all privacy elements have to be indoors – this tranquil, natural-toned bathroom is screened by outdoor planting which also attracts birdlife

Designed by Ben Hudson Architects

From the architect:

The design revolves around the homeowners' desire for a tranquil retreat that combines comfort, functionality and natural elements.

A challenge we faced with this space was fostering a connection to the outdoors without compromising the owners’ privacy.

Rather than rely on internal blinds or opaque glazing, we created a screen of native planting outside.

The concrete bath and a palette of gentle, earthy colours embodies warmth and relaxation, while the outdoor planting invites native bird song and enhances the connection to nature, transforming the bathroom into a tranquil haven.
