Designer Statement:
This is a renovation of a late 1950s architectural family home.
A complete spatial redesign of kitchen/utility areas adding a working scullery. Walls were moved to open up the whole area while extending room and incorporating new sliding doors to the deck.
Brief was to retain an existing Rimu flooring & window architraves to match rest of house.
The homeowners requested a modern kitchen design to blend with the current house style.
A purpose-built GIB wall was constructed to contain the three sets of Ovens. A feature timber framed alcove with a new window was designed for placement of the Hob separating the ovens thus bringing the timber elements and well as the cooking zone all together
The scullery was designed as a full preparation area to be closed off when entertaining. Sink, Storage, Fridge Freezer, Cool Drawer & single Dishdrawer were planned as a mini kitchen.
A bar area was a specific request of the owner for entertaining, including wine & beer refrigeration, hidden by an electric on bench climber with LED lighting.
The homeowners are avid golfers, requested a TV viewable from Kitchen & family area.
Utility Room with Washing machine & Dryer combing storage for cleaning zone for golf accessories as well as general items.
The wall colours were chosen to blend with Bead blasted stainless steel & marble benches giving a tranquil contemporary feel to the room.
