Designer Statement:
This is a renovation of a late 1950s architectural family home.
A complete spatial redesign of kitchen/utility areas adding a working scullery. Walls were moved to open up the whole area while extending room and incorporating new sliding doors to the deck.
Brief was to retain an existing Rimu flooring & window architraves to match rest of house.
The homeowners requested a modern kitchen design to blend with the current house style.
A purpose-built GIB wall was constructed to contain the three sets of Ovens. A feature timber framed alcove with a new window was designed for placement of the Hob separating the ovens thus bringing the timber elements and well as the cooking zone all together
