Touches like rounded edged elements play a part. The spa-like ambience is underpinned by adroit functionality To achieve this sophisticated ensuite the designer chose a colour and finishes palette that is elegant but with a graphic edge. Designed by Jessica Valintine DesignFrom the designer:To achieve this sophisticated ensuite design we chose a colour and finishes that are elegant with a graphic edge.A serene softness has been achieved in what is normally a stark environment, with rounded edged elements and a selection of materials that seamlessly echoes the master bedroom scheme.Finishes and materials have been cleverly juxtaposed to create shade and shadow with gloss highlights, increasing the visual size and practical functions of a comfortable ensuite bathroom in this luxurious home. Elliptical bowls play off the lineal characteristics of the cabinetry, and connect with the oval mirrors nestled between narrow window openings. Contrasts of matt Lombardia grigio wall cladding against the bone white gloss mosaic tiles on horizontal and vertical planes intersect with the black accessories to attractive effect. The owners’ high expectations have been captured in the layout of the bathroom, with care for privacy and practicality required of the heavily used space. The impressive cladding of the shower enclosure and discrete toilet area has been treated with respect and proportional balance.Elliptical bowls sit elegantly against the clean-lined cabinetry and juxtapose well with the oval mirrors nestled between narrow window openings. The black minimalistic towel rails and fittings seem to spring out from the bathroom walls. The picture perfect placement of the freestanding bath under the window opening creates a high-end hotel ambience, exceeding the owners’ brief. Functionality and practicality have not been forgotten with the spacious design and choice of minimalistic towel rails and fittings which seem to spring out from the surfaces. The outcome is a well appointed room which is both attractive and practical, and designed with care to meet the owners’ needs and desires.
