Drawing inspiration from the heritage feature of the coved principal room corners, the ensuite corners have a gentle radius, reinforced by the subtle vertical curved patterns of the white Inax finger tiles. The vanity's veneer picks up on the blackbutt timber bedroom floor and features a textural stone top, while the tall mirror's rounded corners echo the room itself. A feature skylight over the shower enclosure has a long linear shaft that penetrates through the full extent of the heritage roof, drawing in natural light – and together with the curved warmth of the tiles, enveloping the senses. The main bedroom celebrates original heritage ceiling roses, cornices, and strapping, and of course the coved corners in a simple white palette. Furniture with curved or radius elements is selected, with locally designed feature silk / wool rug, lamp and soft linens that create a light warm feel and encourage the flow of space in a subtle play on landscape colours of charcoal greys, light blues and light greens. Lamps and pendant lights are circular, and the generous ceiling height is maintained between old and new spaces. The colours balance between ensuite and bedroom, reflected in the uncannily beautiful Greg Wood landscape oil paintings which feature in the bedroom. The walk-in robe offers a calm sanctuary maximising every square inch of space, providing full-height storage and framing the view back out to the main bedroom.
