This beachside master bathroom provides bathers with one of the best seats in the house

The peace attained through lying in a bath and contemplating a wonderful view is not something everyone gets to experience. This beachside house was designed to give guests just that feeling of total relaxation.
Designed for use as high-end beachfront vacation home, this house has two identical bedroom suites one downstairs and one up. The upstairs bathroom offers extensive sea views, while downstairs, the bathroom is enveloped by a garden vista.
The homeowners are based in Singapore, and had significant input into the design of this house. They wanted to incorporate elements of Asian pavilion-style living into the master suite.

"We designed the master suite as a pavilion off the front of the house, to take advantage of sun and views. Unlike Singapore, however, the climate doesn't allow for open pavilions," they say.
High, white painted beams link the master bedroom to the bathroom along the ceiling line, giving an open effect to both rooms.
The bathtub, with its expansive views, is the centerpiece of the room. One specification of the owners was that the bathtub be level with the bottom of the bifold windows. When the windows are open, the bather feels like they are almost on the beach.

Black Portuguese tiles provide an interesting design feature. They also serve another unintended function radiating heat from the all-day sun that enters the room.
The modern style of the room was softened by the introduction of an antique Chinese vanity and teak-framed mirror. Caramel gold paint gives a summery highlight to the room.
A walk-in wardrobe and a toilet are concealed in a separate area behind the back wall ofthe shower.
