The context

Our homeowners, a busy couple with a young family, came to us looking for a new home that would take advantage of the surrounding views and that would support their modern lifestyle.

Taking inspiration from luxury hotel experiences, the owners were seeking to replicate that feeling of sanctuary and wellbeing. 

With amazing views to the west and natural light to take advantage of, the principal suite has become something very special – providing spacious elegance zoned away from the hustle and bustle of family life.

With a layout that flows through to the main bedroom and visual links both internally and externally from the refined ensuite to the calming bedroom space and across to the refined WIR and dressing room, this area sets the tone for the rest of the house.

Sumptuous feel and bathed in light

The free-standing bath – positioned to soak in the view, the expansive double vanity with make-up table and full-length mirror, and lastly the curved mosaic wall in the shower all combine to form a sumptuous space that is bathed in natural light. 

The attention to detail in the design is evident, with the aesthetic, colour palette and range of textures extending through the main suite and beyond, ensuring a cohesive design language across the home.

Functionality as underlying rationale

As always in a bathroom, our strategy focussed on functionality as the underlying rationale, as seen in the concealed storage, heated towel rails and the convenient footstep and ledge in the large shower area. 

LED lighting, installed discreetly in key locations, enhances the day-to-day use of the room. 

High efficiency electric hot water & heating run by solar panels together with water efficient fittings contribute to the project’s sustainability goals, minimising carbon footprint and water usage.

The result is a thoughtful, practical, and sophisticated bathroom design which reinforces the refined spaces and forms of its surroundings – creating a functional, visually stunning sanctuary in which to relax and rejuvenate.
