Corporate identity is a key marketing tool one that helped determine this prestigious store fit-out by Allen & Chapman

Internationalism demands that no matter where in the world a company is represented, its branding is readily identifiable be it a fast food chain or an upmarket cosmetics company. Not surprisingly, maintaining that corporate image is an ongoing exercise, with new outlets designed and built to a very specific and detailed brief.

Fit-out specialist Allen & Chapman was presented with just such a brief for the fit-out of the first Jo Malone store in New Zealand. Director Brooke Prescott says the store, which markets therapeutic oils, essences and candles, is linked to the Estee Lauder group and well recognised overseas.

"Allen & Chapman has undertaken many fit-outs for Estee Lauder in New Zealand, including the Mac store in the Chancery precinct in central Auckland," Prescott says. "This project, also in Chancery, required a similar high standard of fit-out."

In keeping with the company's corporate branding, the store features luxurious display cabinets with ornate colonial skirtings, cornices and mouldings. A special colonial bullnose was manufactured for the stone countertops.

Prescott says in addition to the construction and installation of all the display cabinets and track lighting, Allen & Chapman was responsible for the walls, ceiling and tiled flooring.
