Understated tones meet a colourful feature wall in this modern bathroom that's designed for children but with a touch of grown-up elegance

Designed by Kirsty Davis Kitchen Design

From Kirsty Davis:

This bathroom forms part of a modern family home constructed from high end pre finished exterior material. These materials were then brought through the interior and so called for a bathroom with colours and textures that emulated the formed concrete tilt slab walls.

The bathroom was to have a sleek and simple layout with texture and a pop of colour creating interest and a sense of this space being an upstairs retreat.

Although this would mainly be a bathroom for children’s/teens, adding the navy herring bone also gave an elegance to the space.

Beautiful views of the hills dictated the layout of the bathroom, in particular the placement of the vanity.

While this bathroom is simple in design, the varied materials provide high contrast and add plenty of interest.
