Bathed in luxury
No need for a shower in this bathroom as there are two other bathrooms in the home. Instead, the bathtub, which is accentuated by the tiles, is firmly the centre of attention

From EJ Building:
Homeowners’ requests:
· The owners wanted to create a castle-like haven for bathing inside their windowless 2.5m x 1.9m bathroom.
· A shower wasn’t required as this was the third bathroom in the house.
What we achieved:
A freestanding stone bath was added as a focal point when entering the bathroom, with herringbone tiles added as a backdrop for the bath.
This pattern was selected as it provided an attractive contrast to the soft curve of the free-standing bath.
We also repeated the herringbone pattern in the recessed shelf.

An LED strip light at the top of the wall was introduced to wash light down the tiles.
Off white / grey tiles were selected to give the bath more impact, making it look white and clean.
An LED light around the custom mirror was used to introduce light into the dark room as well as show off the texture of the stone wall tiles.
We also installed a full length mirror with concealed storage behind it, to keep the bathroom clean and clutter free.
The basin and mirrors were also all curved to complement the curves of the Marmorin bath. The chrome bathroomware / tapware was kept square to help create contrast.
One issue we encountered was that the walls of the bathroom were in poor condition, with some being 40mm out of plumb.
A lot of additional time went into straightening these because if they weren’t perfectly straight it would have been easily noticed due to the small cut tiles on the feature wall.
A time lapse video was recording throughout the renovation – it was quite unusual knowing there were people watching the whole time the work was being carried out.
