Heavily veined Volakas marble tiles are the starting point for this suite's decor. Colored accessories are used as punctuation, and can easily be changed

Updating the look of your master suite is easy when a neutral scheme underpins the decor, and accessories such as accent pillows and bath towels are used to add a touch of vibrant color to the palette.

This master bathroom was large enough for two showers, a two-basin vanity top and a large freestanding bathtub, says IMA Interiors managing director Isabelle Miaja.

"Volakas marble and Philippe Starck fittings dictated the look, which is modern and clean. The size of the room enabled us to use chunky, contemporary pieces. Bare Tasmanian oak for the vanity cabinetry and the bedroom floor adds a sense of warmth to the space."

Miaja says the marble and oak are ideal for the home's tropical location.

A black-and-white color scheme in the bedroom complements the gray-veined marble. The look can be changed simply by switching the color of the accessories.
