Varied tones
The shimmering light reflected from honed and polished tiles can add atmosphere to any room
The rooms in a house we most enjoy are often those with character. When remodeling, choosing materials with subtle light-reflecting qualities is one way to add visual depth to a room.
Feature walls and floors made from honed and polished glass, stone or metal mosaic tiles can give a room an intriguing element, says Robert Briggs, director of Maestro Mosaics.
"The bathroom vignette above has an offset inset of Palace Onyx and Crema Marfil Checkerboard, showing how character can be created," he says.
"On the facing page, 3inx3in subway tiles were used on the wall behind the basin, with Octagon and Dot on one wall, and Herringbone on the other. Above the basin is a bullnose with a mosaic strip."
Maestro Mosaics has the largest collection of White Statuary, White Carrara and Crema Marfil mosaic components in America.
Styles, such as Basket Weave, Herringbone, Octagon and Dot, and Zeta rectangular patterns, give clients a wide range of style options. The variety of tile sizes, including larger 3inx6in and 8inx8in subway for walls and floors, means there is an option for any sized room.
