Seaside serenity
"We designed the home over split levels with the garage and formal entry on the top floor" – architect Stephan Meijer
Having the garage and drive at the top of the property designed by architect Stephan Meijer offered the most effective solution for the layout of the home.
Visitors descend from the front door or internal garage to reach the living areas.
The exterior's generous use of concrete and glass is off-set by the warmth of Canadian cedar cladding on some walls and Colorsteel roofing in the same wood tone.
"We designed the home over split levels with the garage and formal entry on the top floor," Meijer says "The pool is set halfway between the main floor and the basement level."
Given the waterfront location, this home makes the most of the setting with a very long terrace.
Large sliders roll back to make the interiors and the terrace one expansive indoor-outdoor area.
A sail shade shelters the outdoor dining area of this home while facade overhangs limit solar gain on the interiors during the summer.
