When the MCG received its first big screen in 1982, Mike Waddington, from IDS, was part of the initial design team. He has been involved in the design, installation and commissioning of all full colour video screens installed at the MCG ever since.

"We provide a complete turnkey approach to large, outdoor LED video systems. We work through venue requirements and develop specifications. We can also assist in the installation or complete a full installation ourselves."

At the MCG, IDS assisted in the development of specifications for the tender of two video screens, to be located at the western and eastern ends of the ground.

IDS provided an engineering support service, working with Grocon to ensure the selected Mitsubishi Electric video screen system, and the surrounding advertising system, would suit the ground. IDS also supervised and interfaced the auxiliary services, such as the cooling and control system. The company has a long term contract to provide engineering and technical support for the video display and advertising systems at the MCG.
