There are times in every household when everyone wants hot water. Showers, laundry chores, preparing meals and cleaning up in the kitchen are all activities that place a demand on your hot water supply.

There's no need to run out of hot water, however. With a Rinnai Infinity 26 continuous flow gas hot water system, you can have an endless supply of hot water. And what's more, it won't be affected by temperature fluctuations when someone turns on a tap elsewhere in the house.

The Rinnai Infinity system does away with the need for a hot water cylinder. This not only saves space in your home, it also saves electricity, particularly as you are no longer using electricity to keep water hot for the times it's needed. A Rinnai Infinity only heats the water you need when you need it, so no energy is wasted.

Digital controllers that allow you to pre-set your preferred temperature are available. These offer several benefits, says Audrey Smith of Rinnai.

"When the Infinity is installed with digital controllers, you're not mixing hot water with cold to get a comfortable level of warmth. This means the water temperature is not affected when a tap is turned on elsewhere," she says.

Separate controllers in the kitchen, bathroom or laundry allow you to set the water temperature from each room. The thermostat ranges from a tepid 37°C to a hot 55°C. Bathroom controllers have an upper limit of 50°C to prevent accidental scalding. There are also controllers for wet areas so you can adjust the temperature while you are showering, says Smith.

The Rinnai Infinity 26 is suitable for the average home with two bathrooms, producing up to 26 litres of hot water per minute. For larger and smaller homes, there are other systems available. Rinnai also has models for areas with low water pressure and all models are suitable for both natural gas and LPG.

In most situations, the Infinity unit is mounted to the exterior of the house.
