Flooring and paving solutions from National Tiles
Experience and reputation are just as important as quality when it comes to choosing a supplier for a large-scale project. Having supplied tiles and paving to the Green Square South Tower, National Tiles was a natural choice for the North Tower project.
Queensland director Nick Walker says the company supplied more than 5000m² of exfoliated and honed natural granite for the main podium area. This included lobby flooring as well as external paving. Granite in three different thicknesses was supplied: 12.5mm for the internal areas; 20mm for the exterior paving; and 60mm for the steps and risers.
National Tiles also supplied white engineered stone in 600mm x 600mm slabs for the walls in the main lift lobby. These slabs feature decorative timber battens.
The amenities on each level of the tower feature another two varieties of tile from National Tiles. Bathroom walls are lined with 300mm x 300mm gloss white tiles, while the floors feature tiles in glazed colour-body porcelain, which has a non-slip surface.
"As the dark-beige colour goes right through the floor tiles, they will keep their looks, even after many years," says Walker. "The tiles are low maintenance, which makes them easy to clean and sweep. They are also impervious, so they will not stain."
Walker says the company, which specialises in large-scale commercial projects, worked closely with the builder to find appropriate, cost-effective paving and flooring solutions.
The National Tiles network incorporates 12 design centres in Victoria and Queensland.
