In for the long run
A state-of-the-art facility demanded a state-of-the art roofing solution – the new CLAAS Harvest Centre features the country's longest warm roof, part of the wider roofing and cladding solution by specialists Dimond
A vast, state-of-the-art facility demands the very best in design, construction, and materials – which is why Landpower’s agricultural and retail hub near Christchurch Airport, was roofed and clad using Dimond products.
Visible from the air when landing from the south, the new CLAAS Harvest Centre facility brings together retail, training, support, and office functions in one sleek, purpose-built centre.
Among its many impressive features is what is believed to be the longest continuous-length warm roof in the country.
The roofing solution – in a CLAAS of its own
The 1300m² administration space is topped with 66.9m x 20m lengths of Dimond’s DD630 DARS Vented 120mm Advanced Roofing System – creating a warm, dry, quiet, and condensation-free environment for staff.
The system’s layered build accelerates construction, provides a safe working platform, and eliminates the need for surface penetration thanks to its hidden clip system, thus reducing the risk of leaks.
The warm roof also offers vented and non-vented options and is available in multiple finishes, with the ability to produce extremely long, seamless stretches that preserve architectural lines.
Architectural excellence
For Sheppard & Rout Architects, warm roofing was a matter of best practice.
The challenge? Achieving a continuous finish over a roof more than 60m long.
The solution came in the form of Dimond’s system, which allowed the top layer to be rolled out in one continuous length using a specialised machine.

Cost effective and custom friendly
The advantages of Dimond’s warm-roof system also include cost effectiveness.
Because the system involves built-up individual layers, once the first one is installed, the building becomes closed in – potentially accelerating interior work lead times.
The advanced system also doubles as a platform for the roofers, which further accelerates the building process.
Other pluses include the many finishes available, and crucially, the ability to produce roofing specifically for architects, designers, developers, installers and engineers.
Warm roofs are a definite option now for any sized building, from 400m2 offices to 10,000m2-plus, and we can provide solutions that cover all the H1 (energy efficiency insulation requirement) zones.
Beyond the roof
Dimond products were used throughout the facility, which was constructed by Apollo Projects.
The office was clad in V-Rib, while the 5000m² warehouse utilised DP955 cladding.
This landmark facility not only showcases architectural innovation but also supports Landpower’s operations across Australasia – from parts and shipping to IT, training, and sales.
Getting an over view
Located near Christchurch airport, this project not only looks great from the ground, thanks to Dimond's long-run warm roof solution, it looks seamless from the air as well.
