Hipster vibe is served
Creating a new kitchen in what was once a warehouse environment required material connection with the fabric of the building and a focal point for gathered friends and a bottle or two of wine

From the designer:
During several after hours appointments, it was apparent that our homeowners had a great love of wine!
We were inspired to keep an open plan kitchen which provided a perfect platform to create an ambient wine bar experience where the owners can gather with friends around the raised island bench (suitable for up to 8 people) at the same time.

The Cote d’Azur natural stone benchtop offers a practical solution as preparation area and coincidentally operated as a 2nd home office space during Covid lockdown.
Central to the home's footprint, it was critical for the kitchen's colours and textures to be both the backdrop and the focal point to offset the sandblasted red brick which we stripped back to reveal the character and history of the original wool store warehouse.
The chalk board wall is a great place for the wine list, grocery list and more recently the toddlers’ colouring in!
