NO Longer should the choice of a suitable hard surface for walls or flooring literally leave you between a rock and a hard place. There are many products on the market, all of which have different purposes.

Rocks On has been working with quality surface materials for over 14 years and have an in-depth knowledge of a wide range of hard surface solutions.

"Understanding the characteristics of each hard surface and the applications in which it can be used is the first step," says John Berry of Rocks On.

The company supplies a wide range of tile and slab surfaces, including the newly released Rock & Rock series of porcelain stoneware from Roca in Spain.

Rock & Rock is double-pressed and manufactured using a technology known as Tallado', which means the raw material is cut before being fired in the kiln, giving the edges a clean finish.

"The textures and colours you get replicate the popular natural stones for walls and flooring," he says.

Rock & Rock comes in large format sizes including 600x1200, 300x1200, 600x600 and 300x600.

With both a natural finish (slip-rated R10) for indoor and outdoor use, and a super grip finish (slip-rated R11) for public outdoor areas, Rock & Rock is suitable for a wide range of commercial and residential projects. It resists stains, scratches, and chemical attacks.

"These large format sizes are much like slabs of stone and are quite unusual in the market. Also this level of attention to detail, in terms of replicating the texture and colours of natural stone, is something you rarely see done so well," he says.

Since it is simply laid as a tile, the transportation and installation of the material is much simpler than solid stone slabs. And while a stone surface requires ongoing maintenance, Rock & Rock needs none.

Rocks On consultants are available by appointment only. They offer guidance in terms of the most suitable hard surface for any given project. This level of service continues right through to recommendations for tiling, cleaning and maintenance to ensure every project retains its integrity, well into the future.
