McFadyen Pipeline Constructions were employed to install underground pipeline services for storm water, sewers, and electrical and water mains, prior to constructing all the internal roadwork and pavements for Green Square.The company worked alongside Butler Partners in removing and replacing contaminated soil. It also made sure that all excess storm water run-off was monitored and treated before exiting the site."During earthworks and drainage installation, contaminated material was taken to accredited recycling facilities, and replaced with clean, approved, imported backfill material," says managing director Ronald McFadyen. McFadyen says space was tight."A lot of co-ordination and planning was necessary between the different parties the on-site engineers, electrical services, concreters and delivery people to make sure all aspects of the construction were completed in time. It was a team effort," he says.Due to these space issues, and in order to obtain uninterrupted reign of the work site, staff at McFadyen Pipeline Constructions often opted to work public holidays and weekends.
