No matter how tight the budget, there can always be an innovative design response, as this project shows.

The new Auckland office for Leading Edge Communications, brings together staff from two locations. Spaceworks, the architectural specifier for the project, says the company wanted a collaborative office interior that would energise the staff, while also making them feel at home.

"The new space was a blank canvas, but the budget was limited and the wow factor needed to come from the colours and finishes."

Spaceworks based the concept on a series of houses and baches, with meeting areas referencing different elements for example the collaboration spaces are reminiscent of a backyard.

The main colour anchor is an eye-catching 20m wall painted in stripes, in seven Resene shades Resene Meteorite (dusky violet), Resene Golden Dream (strong yellow), Resene Cardinal (lipstick pink), Resene Ecstasy (tangerine orange), Resene Citrus (acidic green), Resene Sea Fog (greyed white) and Resene Alabaster (blackened white).

To make the space practical, part of the interior was painted in Resene Write-on Wall Paint, which provides a whiteboard-style wall.

Other colours include Resene Toto a soft sky blue in the reception area, which references the Leading Edge corporate colour. It is also a traditional bach colour.
