Noble presence
Tasmanian oak veneer joinery, offset with shaker cabinet doors, complements this kitchen's feature Aquila marble surfaces – finishes flow through to the well-appointed butler's pantry behind
Designed by Craig Linke Bespoke Building
From the designer:
Well executed and packed with modern conveniences, this kitchen is the heart of a home addition.
Designed in partnership with Ply Architecture and IJF Living, these cohesive contemporary spaces – comprising a kitchen and butler’s kitchen – are adroitly specified throughout.
The main kitchen makes a bold contemporary statement due in part to the honed Aquila marble, sourced from CDK Stone.
The marble features across the benchtops, splashbacks, rangehood and island bench – with detail rich fluted rounds to the island bench and rangehood box, and an 80mm apron to the island bench.
Tasmanian oak veneer joinery, offset with shaker cabinet doors, complements the Aquila marble.
This was crafted and installed by IJF Living and features Lo and Co brass handles.

The standout herringbone parquetry timber floors from Tongue & Groove in a modern freado grande classic colour is carried right through the kitchen and butler’s kitchen.
Hafele strip lighting and downlights feature throughout the space, adding warmth, with star lights added over the cooktop for ease of cooking.
The Swiss designed V-Zug cooktop is built from sleek OptiGlass for a minimalist finish.
These cooktops reduce energy consumption for a more environmentally friendly alternative to traditional cooktops.
A V-Zug integrated dishwasher also features in the space, concealed by the joinery.
Overhead, the silent Schweigen white glass undermount rangehood is a handy feature in the space for peaceful cooking.
In the kitchen, a single Franke kubus granite sink with a KWC Zoe pullout black mixer tap serves more for aesthetics.
In the adjacent butler’s kitchen, which also features the Aquila marble paired with two-pack shaker cabinetry, there is a onyx kubus granite sink with drying rack and a KWC Zoe pullout mixer tap with a light for greater cleaning efficiency.
The space also includes a breakout coffee-making zone that is complete with statement glass shelves with a black aluminium frame.
Other key appliances also form part of the butler’s kitchen.
V-Zug appliances include a pyrolytic self-cleaning oven, combi steam oven, and a VacuDrawer for sous vide cooking, as well as a Vintec fridge.
Cohesion between the butler’s kitchen and main kitchen is achieved via the same statement marble, flooring selection and palette throughout, maximising design cohesion.
The result is two innovative spaces that meet both the owners’ aesthetic and functional requirements.
