A warm, calm palette contributes to this light, minimalist bathroom with a sleek European aesthetic and individualistic bronzed shower glass

Designed by Annika Rowson, Rowson Kitchens

From the designer:

  • The brief for this project was to create a light, calm and minimalist bathroom with a sleek European aesthetic that links cohesively from the kitchen
  • In response, I selected a neutral large format matt tile to minimise grout lines and all ledges were to mitred to avoid the need for tile trim
  • The tiles very closely match the Dekton Liquid Shell basin which was custom made to include a hidden waste while the drawer units are in Shinnoki Manhattan Oak to bring warmth to the space
  • The custom shower screen features bronze glass to further introduce warmth as I felt clear glass was too sterile & the skylight gently back lights it – this had not been achieved before so I worked closely with Metro Glass in Hamilton to get this concept over the line due to lamination processes

  • The blackened brass circular mirror sits above a ledge which creates a break in the wall and offers a place to display small plants/candles etc
  • The initial layout of the bathroom from the plans had the toilet drawn on the right-hand wall but I felt this disrupted the flow to the shower so I placed this next to the vanity – creating a more open, spacious aesthetic
  • A trio of Exhaust pendant lights by Buster & Punch in Graphite blend into the warm, calm palette
