Well rounded
Contemporary and individual, The Hub Apartments complex looks different from every aspect and offers an equally diverse range of living options
As with several aspects of the apartment building, The Hub's ceilings and partition elements reflect an innovative, ultra-efficient design.
QLD Internal Linings undertook the supply and installation for almost all of the walls and ceilings over the building's eight floors, says construction manager Tim Boyle.
"In conjunction with Powerscape, we developed and installed a new inter-tenancy party wall system for the project," he says. "This new party wall system exceeds all sound- and fire-proofing requirements. Due to choice of materials and ease of installation, the product represented a considerable time- and cost-saving for the project."
In addition to the internal walls, QLD Internal Linings installed the drop-down ceilings suspended from the bulkheads in the apartments and hallways.
On the outside of the building, the company installed cladding elements above the parapets on level seven. These were constructed from Rendaline CSR fibrous cement.
"The entire project ran seamlessly from start to finish this was due to the experience of our installation team and the integrity of our suppliers," says Boyle. "These included Peer Industries, who supplied a consistently reliable product; CSR, for the Gyprock and external cladding; and lastly Powerscape for their reliable supply and input regarding the creation of the double-frame system."
The project took around four months to complete.
