The location of a penthouse on top of a building means it will be exposed to the weather and the penthouse and its large outdoor entertaining area at 38 The Bond is no exception. To provide flexibility and ensure the space can be enjoyed in all weather conditions, Architectural Glass Projects installed its ML200 Series Motorised Louvres. This system features 200mm wide louvre blades that can be adjusted to provide protection from heat and glare as the sun moves across the sky. Made with only the highest quality aluminium and stainless steel finishes used, the system is not only functional but is also an attractive addition to the outdoor space of any luxury apartment. For the other apartments in the building, providing privacy without obstructing view and sunlight were important design considerations. To achieve this and to create a feature on the western fae§ade, which faces the harbour, AGP Slimline Shutters are used in various configurations. Closeup of bifolding louvres at window. The 55 Series Slimline Shutters features 55mm elliptical blades set in an aluminium framing system. The angle of all the blades can easily be altered by turning one blade by hand. The shutters can slide to one side to open up the balcony area or be pulled across for weather protection or privacy. Each panel is supported by an overhead sliding track system with high quality, wheeled rollers for smooth and quiet operation and a lock mechanism to hold the panels in place. On the southern side of the building where there was insufficient space for the sliding system, a bifolding version of the system was installed. The first panel is hinged off the wall and subsequent panels are linked together with the sliding track guiding the panels into the open or closed position. These panels can be opened fully for an unobstructed outlook or closed and locked for security purposes. Bifolding louvres partly folded back. Slimline Shutters are available in several configurations. Individual panels can be mounted to move two ways, or each panel can be on its own track for storage at one side only. Alternatively, where required the track can be curved. For simple, efficient installation by the company's tradesmen, the panels are preassembled in the factory then delivered to the site. For more information, contact Architectural Glass Projects, 9 Liberty Road, Huntingwood, NSW 2148, phone (02) 9671 0000, fax (02) 9672 1951.
