From the architects:

The brief was for a new, contemporary kitchen to complement an existing modern home influenced by Spanish architecture.

The owners are passionate cooks who were in need of a state of the art kitchen to meet their needs. They wanted a no expense spared statement that would be both beautiful and practical. As such, all appliances and finishes had to be first grade.

The island presents as a solid mass of stone illuminated from above by a delicate designer light fitting that even has a plant growing out of it.

The choices of rich tones provide the sense of luxury and opulence without looking ostentatious. Darker elements of the palette introduce contrast into the home’s otherwise light colour scheme.

Great design attention was necessary to create a clean and seamless work space that is both minimalistic in detail but also expressive in terms of artistry and luxury.

Responding to the owners’ requirements for both entertainment and cooking, the layout is both practical and as generous as possible.

Equipped with cutting-edge fixtures and appliances, this renovation maximises the area to achieve ample storage space.

All appliances are concealed behind cabinets and roller shutters.

The only appliance left out is a top-of-the-range professional coffee machine that is handily positioned and also displays as a work of art in its own right.

Attention was also given to durability and maintenance, with materials chosen that can withstand stains and finger prints.
