Tower of power
Several elements in the existing lobby were reconfigured. Full-service builder Ultra Building Works carried out the work, greatly improving the dynamic of the space
First impressions count and this applies to commercial office space as well as to new acquaintances. The reinvented lobby for 175 Liverpool Street offers an efficient, contemporary entrance to the upgraded tower.
Ultra Building Works (UBW) is a full service builder specialising in commercial fit-outs and select residential services, says director Peter Kyra.
"Our company was contracted to reconfigure the lobby at Liverpool Street. The work involved relocating the concierge station to a more practical setting near the entry, introducing new joinery throughout and an upgrade of surfaces.
"Important aspects included matching existing colour-back glass, stone, and veneer finishes, as well as integrating stackable toughened glass doors to the concierge station and the extension to the lobby's central feature, a large timber veneer bulkhead."
In addition, Ultra Building Works built a meeting room within the spacious, light-filled lobby. Much of the project was carried out while the building was in operation, with hoardings concealing works from the public eye. However, some tasks had to be completed outside normal work hours.
"With touches such as the colour-backed glass, stone benchtops, and wallpaper, the building's lobby has been transformed into a modern, highly functional space," Kyra says.
