Thinking space
The new offices of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF), located, conceptualised and fitted out by Gaze Commercial, offer a flexible design and welcoming atmosphere
With over 400 staff moving into the offices from various locations, the choice of desking, screens, shelving and under desk mobile drawers was an important consideration, in terms of both ergonomics and flexibility.
In response to this, Kada Commercial Furniture supplied height-adjustable Ultimet workstations and System 55 screens, screen-hung shelving and under-desk mobile storage systems for the project, says Wellington regional manager Prue Lamason.
The Ultimet systems were specified for their ergonomic efficiency and also for flexibility, the latter important as staff numbers grow or decline.
Lamason says that the basic structures and range of screens, work surfaces and accessories allow for a consistent design throughout the offices.
"We also supplied all soft seating for the fit-out, apart from the pieces in reception. Comfort and contemporary styling were a feature of the two-tone pieces of furniture provided for breakout areas throughout the building."
