The Wright address
Inspired by the work one of the world's most celebrated architects, this residential community has an enduring quality
Refined architectural elements are often used to visually bind a community of individual houses into a cohesive, unified whole. Here, the use of a recurring motif on the exterior facades is a key factor in establishing the development's holistic vision.
The distinctive symbol, the chevron, is a v-shaped pattern chosen as being reminiscent of Long Island's glamorous heritage. It is present on the curbside exterior windows and entry doors that were supplied by Triangle Building Products, says executive vice president Thomas J Flaherty.
"Featuring the chevron in a multicolored leaded glass pattern plays an essential role in establishing the look of the entire community," he says. "So we came up with a design, took it to the major window manufacturer, Vetter, and they created an entirely new window and door product."
In addition to windows and doors, Triangle provides a full lumberyard service. At the Hamlet Estates, the company supplied the framing lumber, plywood and clear cedar trim boards.
