For a show home in a lifestyle estate such as The Waterways in Melbourne, a high standard of specification is essential, and this needs to be reflected in the appliance choice. Appliances not only need to look good they must have the performance to match.

Both these criteria determined the choice of Miele appliances for the kitchen of The Brookland show home by David Reid Homes. Spokesman Mario Kusuma says the company undertook considerable research before opting for the Miele line-up.

"We were particularly impressed with the look of the appliances, and their numerous features," Kusuma says. "As soon as we visited the Miele showroom, we knew these appliances would complement the contemporary styling of the house, and also ensure the kitchen would be well equipped for entertaining."

To this end, Kusuma specified a large 90cm-wide Miele H 4900 B multifunction oven, which comes with a PerfectClean interior. This is paired with a 93cm Miele KM 391 G gas cooktop featuring cast iron pan supports and five burners, including a wok burner and simmer burner.

The Miele DA 429-4 90cm rangehood has a narrow, square-edged profile that complements the horizontal lines of the cantilevered wood laminate cabinetry and sleek CaesarStone benchtops.

To cater to all cooking needs, there is also a Miele M 8260 microwave oven, which has seven automatic programmes for cooking, defrosting and reheating.

Other Miele products include the KFN 8997 SE freestanding fridge-freezer, and a G 2830 integrated dishwasher.

All the appliances come with a two-year parts and labour guarantee.
