Structurally sound
Steelwork completed within agreed timeframe
STRUCTURAL STEEL work on the State Library Building was one of the responsibilities of Beenleigh Steel Fabrications. To complete its part in the Millennium Arts Centre, the company supplied 421 tonnes of structural steel, which was used in the renovation of the library building.
Beenleigh Steel Fabrications' scope of works included workshop detailing, fabrication in its Crestmead workshop, protective and architectural finishes and site installation of the structural steel.
All its work, which included the roof steelwork, Knowledge Walk pop-up roof structure, exterior facades and the Indigenous Knowledge Centre structure, was completed within a 16-month time frame.
Company director Frank Boyes says the company has been involved in many iconic projects in its 24 years of experience in the construction industry.
"Our proven ability to get the job done in the proposed time frame is the reason we are invited to become involved in projects of this scale," he says.
Currently, the company is undertaking structural steel work on the Robina Football Stadium on the Gold Coast, due to be completed by July 2007.
Recent projects in Beenleigh Steel Fabrications' portfolio are the Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane Cricket Ground, Brisbane Square and Queens Plaza developments. Other major contracts include BAC Domestic Long Term Carpark, Kawana Home Central, Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre and Sydney Superdome Homebush.
