Affiliation with a national organisation offers more than the chance to network, it provides many professional benefits
Affiliation with a national body is an astute way to ensure you receive professional support and advice.
Architectural Designers New Zealand (Inc) is a national body that offers a range of benefits for its members, from government representation to education and promotion and professional indemnity insurance. Of course it also provides the opportunity to network with other architectural designers and industry associates.
"ADNZ was established in 1966 and is the only professional body solely representing self-employed architectural designers therefore we had a role in the recent dialogue with government on the new building practitioners licensing regime," says national president Fraser Gillies.
Members of ADNZ which has nine regional branches throughout the country are professionally qualified, are specialists in architectural design and construction and can initiate and complete a building project from conception through to final certification.
"ADNZ's strength is in its very active membership which has a high level of expertise that can be drawn on by all members and the strong support of our corporate sponsors."
This year, long-standing ADNZ national sponsor Resene has become naming rights sponsor of the ADNZ design awards.
"The awards are designed to boost design standards, encourage innovation and are an opportunity for members to showcase talents," says Gillies.
The annual awards, which are announced at the ADNZ national conference in October, are a key feature of ADNZ's aim of improving the high professional standards of its members.
