Starring role
Italian design continues to make waves Arclinea, often called the Ferrari of kitchens, features in an ever-growing list of celebrity homes

Innovative design will always put a kitchen in the limelight. And no one understands this better than the Italians, who are famed for their love of good design be it kitchens, cars or fashion.
It is not surprising, therefore, to read that the Italian-manufactured Arclinea brand is often called the Ferrari of kitchens. The link is particularly appropriate Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, the president of Ferrari, has an Arclinea kitchen. So too do Virgin Group president Richard Branson, Geox founder Mario Moretti Polegato and Mexican president Carlos Salinas.

Mohdar Anwar, the design manager for Australian distributor Stile di Vita, says Arclinea's celebrity endorsement can be attributed to a number of factors.
"The distinctive aesthetics of these kitchens reflect an emphasis on practicality, technology and ergonomics," he says. "Arclinea kitchens incorporate the latest technology to maximise space and improve functionality."

Anwar says Arclinea kitchens can include indoor greenhouses for growing herbs, dining tables that can be raised and lowered by remote control, LED sensor taps and a wealth of storage solutions that reduce clutter. Kitchens are also eco-friendly and feature recyclable materials.
