Why a stand-alone shower was placed in the centre on this bathroom
Prior to renovation by EJ Building, this ensuite had the classic shower-over-the-bath scenario. What a difference a fresh design makes!

Designed and built by EJ Building
From EJ Building:
The original bathroom in this house had a bath with a shower over it. However, the homeowners weren’t happy having to climb into the bath on a daily basis. Their main requirement was to have a stand-alone tiled shower.
For a renovation – rather than a new build or extension – it is always more challenging, as the room size has already been determined by a previous designer. This can be more restrictive both when it comes to designing the bathroom layout and selecting the bathroomware.

And indeed, this bathroom renovation was quite a challenge from a design point of view. Normally showers are in positioned the corner of the room, but to optimise the lay-out in this bathroom we needed to install a three sided frameless glass shower in the centre of the bathroom.
Given that the room wasn’t overly large we also opted for a wall-hung vanity and a large mirror, both giving the illusion of increased space.
As the owners were living in the house it was very important to them to have a functional bathroom to use as soon as possible. The team was able to get in and renovate the bathroom start to finish in just three weeks.
