The most common renovation projects involve kitchens and bathrooms, so it's not surprising that they can also, potentially, involve expensive plumbing alterations. This is especially true when clients want to maximise space by putting a new bathroom or water-using facility into a basement or attic space.

There is a simple, economical solution that won't compromise your clients' plans. A Saniflo macerating or grey water pump can be used in situations where standard plumbing may be difficult or impossible. And unlike traditional plumbing systems, the installation doesn't require expensive structural alterations.

Saniflo managing director Chris Olsen says the pumps are capable of disposing waste to the main drains vertically up to 8m and horizontally up to 100m, or a lesser combination of both, depending on the model chosen. This means you can install water-using facilities away from and even below the sewer line, defying traditional gravity-fed plumbing conventions.

Saniflo pumps for residential use are unobtrusive, but they can be hidden in cupboards or wall cavities if preferred.

Olsen says the Saniflo Group invented macerating pump technology more than 50 years ago, and is still at the forefront of sanitary waste removal its research and development division is constantly developing new and improved techniques. Saniflo has sold more than 5 million units worldwide, and has a distribution network that spans more than 25 countries.
