Simple solutions

Traditional plumbing systems are not always a cost-effective solution. For this commercial fit-out, a Sanispeed grey wastewater pump from Saniflo allowed plenty of design flexibility

Any business owner knows that creating a working environment that is not only functional, but also boosts productivity and enhances staff morale can be difficult and often costly to achieve.

For Sydney CBD-based company, Piccadilly Financial Group, moving from a dark second-floor office into a light-filled space on the 19th floor of a nearby building provided management with an opportunity to tailor the workplace to suit.

A large staff kitchen and lounge area were added to the northern side of the building, where all staff can enjoy the spectacular views across the CBD to the harbour beyond.

Every project has its challenges, and this one was no exception. As in most high-rises, the plumbing and sewer lines were located in the centre of the building, well away from where they were required. Traditional plumbing methods would have seen a huge portion of the budget allocated to achieve the layout and design. The solution was to install a Saniflo grey wastewater pump.

The Sanispeed is a small-bore greywater pump system well suited to commercial applications, such as staff kitchens, boardrooms, coffee stations and bars. Its commercially rated motor pumps up to 7m vertically or 70m horizontally, or a lesser combination of both, to the main sewer stack.

Saniflo pumps offer an inexpensive but effective way of designing a space, as there is no need to cut through a concrete core or engage in expensive reinstatement works.

Saniflo has been manufacturing small-bore pumps and macerating systems for more than 50 years, and has sold almost seven million pumps worldwide. With specific models for commercial and domestic applications, there are flexible and simple solutions that allow water-using facilities to be installed anywhere in the building.
