Bathrooms, by virtue of their small size, are ideal subjects for unconventional design solutions. Glamorous finishes, adventurous colours and exotic materials can all work to great effect in such spaces.

This new powder room, designed by Jennie Dunlop, features a Venetian glass mirror, chandelier and a special silver paint finish. Resene Scotty Silver from the Resene Metallics & Special Effects collection was used on the walls to create a glittering, glamorous look. The paint type is an Environmental Choice-approved Resene Enamacryl.

The Resene Metallics & Special Effects collection is divided into three segments: Alluvial, Atmosphere and Stellar. Alluvial focuses on metallic colours associated with unearthed metals such as gold, copper and aluminium. Atmosphere is made up of hues inspired by the land and the sky. Stellar reflects deep space colours the purples and reds of distant constellations.

These paints can be used to transform or add an extra dimension to virtually any surface. For a subtler, pearlescent finish and a softer shimmering effect, there is also Resene Pearl Shimmer and Resene Pixie Dust.

For more information, or to pick up a copy of the new Resene Metallics & Special Effects Chart, visit a Resene ColorShop, or freephone 0800 Resene (737 363). Website: www.resene.co.nz.
