Most hairdressing salons recognise that patrons appreciate an element of privacy when succumbing to the artistic flair of their stylists. This was a major part of the brief from Zurri, a salon in Ellerslie, Auckland, when contracting design firm Yellowfox to update its salon. To prevent the salon from seeming like a viewing tank for passers-by, Yellowfox specified a Chaincraft metal screen, says Claire Bruford, who completed the project with fellow designer Andrea Burney. The chain was a cost-effective solution, which creates a distinctive shopfront for the salon. At night, lighting makes the screen appear like a sparkling wall of silver."Chaincraft specialises in anodised aluminium architectural chain screens, manufactured in Europe and hand assembled to your specifications in New Zealand.
